Julian is a small unincorporated town in the eastern foothills of San Diego County. At an elevation of 4266', we enjoy day-trip proximity to the beach as well as a full range of seasons including snow. Known for its historic gold rush and delicious apples, today Julian is a popular road trip tourism destination with a historic town site, hiking, shopping, must try apple pie, and beautiful state parks. 

The local community suffered through a series of wildfires in the early 2000's but endures today. Home to musicians, craftsmen, famous writers, and a rich history, Julian is a great place to live, work, and create. 

Backwoods Provisions employs local staff and supports community events that encourage local identity as well as visitor enjoyment.
