This hardwood cutting and cheese board is made from environmentally friendly Parawood* and engraved with the seven traditional meals of the Shire Folk around the outer border. Just a little reminder to slow down, enjoy good food with good friends, and know "...it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life".

High Quality Leather handles are cut from full US sourced hides and affixed with twelve copper clad finish nails, echoing the triple dots of Tengwar script. Leather may vary slightly from board to board as this is a small batch, hand made product.

A light 100% food safe stain is applied to the board and finished with a carnauba wax finish. Can be refinished over time with carnuba or beeswax and should last a lifetime.

Hangs nicely from either leather handle when not in use and makes for great wall decor.

*Parawood, also known as Rubber Wood is grown in great quantities for production of latex but are only viable for a time after which they are cut for lumber. It's a sustainable hardwood for this reason. It looks somewhat similar to Maple but a bit easier on knife edges making it a great choice for cutting boards.
