This steel shield boss and handle with corresponding holes can be attached to any board or board-like item you can cut in the shape of a shield. For those of you that want to make your own toy round shield for a costume or even light sparring use... this gets the hard part out of the way! All you have to do is cut out a circle and center hole from your chosen material, wood, plywood, sheet metal, even cardboard or foam... drill a few holes, and attach everything with included nuts/bolts. Paint and customize your shield however you like. Fun DIY project for kids and adults.

Important Notes:

• Shield boss measures 6" outside diameter, 4.5" inside diameter and 2" in depth. This is large enough to accommodate an average sized adult hand but this kit is best used to make children's sized shield. 25" in diameter is probably about as large as you'd want to go.
• Steel used for boss is about 1mm thick. Not made to stand up to full force strikes from rattan or similar. Handle and boss are very sturdy however, excellent for light contact.
• No board included. Sample pictures are examples of shields made with plywood and braced boards.
• Included bolt lengths are left long enough to use variable thickness board material. Bolt lengths will have to be cut down to size once your shield is put together, heavy pliers, Dremel tool, hack saw, grinder, or files can all be used to cut lengths just above nuts.
